Amie Charney

Howdy, Everyone! My name is Amie Charney. I live and write in San Antonio, Texas! I write screenplays, teleplays, and novels, mainly contemporary women's fiction, dramedies, and romantic comedies.

I love telling stories about characters, especially strong women, at crucial turning points in their lives, discovering how to live life on their own terms. It takes a lot of courage and determination to carve a path that may run counter to everyone’s expectations of whom they think you should be. My characters have challenges yet to face, but those won't stop them from living life with a capital "L". My women have fascinating careers, deep friendships, travel, and have experienced life. Their men have their own battles to face, but are ready to be equal partners, best friends, and forever loves. I build worlds where characters I love collide with each other... so always be on the lookout got old friends. I also love multi-generational families who have strong roots in fun hometowns and beautiful places.

I also write a lot about military life. As a 20 year proud Marine Corps wife (with eight deployments in the sea-bag) I often express this crazy life in my works of literary fiction, humor essays, and yep... even poetry (the food of love).
